Lost of the lost #5
Distractions! We see them everyday. You know how some days you feel so close to the Lord and the next all you can think about is work, relationships, partying, video games...etc. These things are all distractions from the things that God has set for us to do. You'll even sometimes recognize that you are distracted from the Lord, and instead of taking a moment to speak to the Lord and worship him, you continue to do what your doing. I catch myself doing it all the time. Rebuke the distractions in your daily life so that you may focus on what God has planned for us. Take time out of your schedule, busy or not, and pray. Talk to the Lord. He's always listening. Take a moment out of your day to tell someone about our amazing God! Spread the good word! Pray and ask God what it is he would have you do. Stay close to the Lord in prayer. Be faithful in the Lord and he will carry you through everyday. When distraction comes upon us we lose sight of God. We stray off the path and before too long we get to the point to where we are just exhausted and we don't feel God. The enemy loves distracting us from God has planned. Its just another way the enemy tries to take us from our God. Set aside a moment and examine your day to day life. Are you leaving any room for God in each day? If not, make that time. Speak to the Lord and ask him to open your eyes and ears. Rebuke the enemy's deceitfulness.
"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4
"He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor." Proverbs 21:21
"You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes and enemy of God." James 4:4
"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Matthew 6:24
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Food for thought: Did Jesus let anything distract him? Was there ever a day he was only concerned with things of this world? As Christians we are supposed to follow Christ.
"Then he said to them all: If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?"
Luke 9:23-25
God bless you all!
